I traveled to Chicago to compete along with a handful of my Silverback BJJ teammates. Since there were no other competitors in my entire age division, I dropped down an age group to compete at Master 6 Black Belt.
I was able to win the semifinal and final matches in the heavyweight division.
In the absolute division there were five competitors including myself. I won the semifinal by submission.
The absolute final was super close! My opponent almost secured a sweep at one point, but no advantage was given. I secured a reverse triangle as time ran out, but no advantage was awarded for that either. The score was 0-0 with no advantages and the official awarded my opponent the victory. Congrats to him.
